Become a Senior Guide

EngAging Seniors dynamic logo

Critical to the success of our OWL Everyday Technology and other Mobile Digital Literacy (MDL) courses is our “seniors guiding seniors” approach. We pair our program participants with knowledgeable, vetted Senior Guides in two-on-one or small class environments. Our Senior Guides have “been there, done that”… in fact, over 90% of them are graduates of the OWL Everyday Technology program themselves! Thorough background checks are run on all Senior Guide candidates; you can rest assured any information shared with our Senior Guides is safe and secure before, during, and after completing the course.

Senior Guide candidates must attend an Increasing One's Mobile Digital Literacy Skills
Guide Training Class which incorporates basic policies and procedures of our Everyday Technology Program.  In addition, because technology never sleeps, we provide our Senior Guides with frequent
Continuing Education opportunities. Specifically, we are looking for older adults with "just average" smartphone skills with the desire to continue to learn. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a Senior Guide,

please call Nicole Christ at

A crucial part of the Everyday Technology programs is our Senior Guides. These older adults have completed the Smartphone Basics for Beginners classes and volunteer their time and skills to provide peer guidance for our participants. The feedback has been very positive. Participants feel comfortable with a peer who understands their needs.

In a nutshell, we EMPOWER older adults to remain independent and age in place!
