Smartphone Basics for Beginners is a 3 Part Series with 3 Levels. Level I meets on 2 consecutive Wednesdays for two hours and is offered free for Older Adults at various locations within Greater Cincinnati. Level I lays the groundwork for creating one's Smartphone Manual. This includes labeling a diagram, introducing pertinent Settings and teaching various ways to care for their smartphone. Participants will learn about the importance of monitoring their battery and Powering Down.
Level II, Older Adults will learn how to successfully Navigate their Touchscreen, Use one's smartphone to Schedule an appointment while on the call, and Using one's Calendar App to one's Advantage. Level III will teach Older Adults the importance of the Status Bar and learn about the various Storages, including the Cloud, and how to delete unnecessary items.
Participants will increase their confidence by learning Smartphone terminology and learn various habits to ensure Smartphone Safety throughout all 3 Levels. Participants will have hands-on experience with a Senior Guide paired with another participant. Our Senior Guides are older adults who have completed these basic classes and are more than willing to help in a patient manner. Our small class size ensures individualized attention in a non-intimidating environment where participants are encouraged to ask questions.
