Leo Coffeehouse
DESCRIPTION:
The Leo listening room is the jewel of the Queen City Balladeers. For some, the Leo has become a musical oasis, a place to enjoy live music in a room filled with attentive listeners. The quality of attention directly affects the nature and quality of the performance. We will be highlighting one Sunday a month for older adults to meet up at Leo Coffeehouse to enjoy various performances.
1ST SET FAMILY & FRIENDS
An ensemble made up of Bill Rogers, Barry Jones, and Dick Males on bass performing an array of singer/songwriter tunes. Maybe there will be a tune by John Prine or Bob Dylan but the others might surprise you, and entertain you.
2ND SET RAISE THE ROOF
Raise the Roof is the 2024 Barbershop Harmony Society Senior International Quartet Champion. Their rich, close harmonies have been described as "a wonderful wall of sound." Join Steve, Marco, Tom & Nat for a truly enjoyable evening of music.
3RD SET DAVID SINGLEY
David Singley is a singer-songwriter-guitarist from Saint Paul, MN, whose music is born of the street, the country, and the academy. A veteran of backing world-class artists and performers, he has recently joined the Great Resignation and set his sights on his own artistic pursuits. His last album, The Long, Slow Fuse of Night, charted on Americana radio for several months. His influences include all the great singer-songwriters of the 1970s.
This is a Meet-up Opportunity with no transportation being provided nor RSVP required.
DAYS / TIMES:
Sunday, March 23rd
First set starts at 6:40 PM

OWL American Sign Language
DESCRIPTION:
American Sign Language (ASL) OWL style is another way to extend lifelong learning. For many, it is something new and different, and is a great way to exercise fingers and hands while supporting overall brain health, increasing eye-hand coordination and extending memory by creating new neural pathways. It is also a way to communicate as one becomes hard of hearing or is unable to speak. We end our sessions signing the names of songs then playing them. What a great way to end your week by socializing, laughing, having fun and listening to some very diverse music! Join us at anytime!!!

OWL Ideas in Philosophy
DESCRIPTION:
Instead of reading what philosophers have written or said, we actually do philosophy in this class! With thought experiments, we construct hypotheses to help us understand our experience. If the hypotheses seem consistent and adequate, we develop a theory. We compare our theory to the thought of others, refining it until we are satisfied. One can join this fun, lively and very interactive discussion group with Dr. William Cleves at anytime!
